{"id":22062,"date":"2021-02-15T06:00:46","date_gmt":"2021-02-15T06:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.publicknowledge.org\/?post_type=documents&#038;p=22062"},"modified":"2023-05-15T13:23:17","modified_gmt":"2023-05-15T13:23:17","slug":"diversity-in-early-career-tech-policy-roles-challenges-and-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"policy","link":"https:\/\/publicknowledge.org\/policy\/diversity-in-early-career-tech-policy-roles-challenges-and-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"Diversity in Early-Career Tech Policy Roles: Challenges and Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public Knowledge is excited to announce \u201c<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/publicknowledge.org\/DiversityInTechPolicy\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diversity in Early-Career Tech Policy Roles: Challenges and Opportunities<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d a new report from Tsion Tesfaye, Communications Justice Fellow at Public Knowledge and diversity and technology equity advocate.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Early-career opportunities offer people a pathway to build careers in tech policy. This is why Public Knowledge conducted research into the challenges tech policy organizations face in reaching people of color interested in the field. This report explores racial and ethnic diversity in early-career roles in technology policy, offers ideas for increasing diversity in such roles, and outlines the impacts of technology policy on people of color.
