{"id":25056,"date":"2021-12-01T21:27:35","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T21:27:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/publicknowledge.org\/?post_type=team_member&#038;p=25056"},"modified":"2024-05-02T19:15:10","modified_gmt":"2024-05-02T19:15:10","slug":"michal-rosenn","status":"publish","type":"team_member","link":"https:\/\/publicknowledge.org\/team_member\/michal-rosenn\/","title":{"rendered":"Michal Rosenn"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>General Counsel, January<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michal Rosenn is General Counsel of January, a tech-enabled debt collection platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was previously General Counsel of Noom, a psychology-based digital health company, General Counsel of Expa, a global community of entrepreneurs helping each other build companies, and General Counsel of Kickstarter, the leading funding platform for creative projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In all her roles, Michal has complemented her legal duties with a focus on public policy, a creative and inclusive approach to advocacy, and a commitment to the public interest in the technology sector. While at Kickstarter, she helped lead Kickstarter\u2019s conversion to Public Benefit Corporation status and made the company a leading voice for public policy in the technology community. Michal led Kickstarter\u2019s efforts on a range of public policy initiatives, including fighting to preserve net neutrality, advocating for users\u2019 free expression and privacy rights, and championing a fair patent system. She continued this policy work at Expa, building upon the company\u2019s existing advocacy for immigrant rights and expanding its advocacy on behalf of entrepreneurs and creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michal was previously a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton &amp; Garrison LLP. She is a graduate of New York University and Harvard Law School, and serves on the boards of Public Knowledge and Engine Advocacy.
