Please join us for our monthly Career Breakfast Series. This event is designed specifically for students and recent graduates of color, offering insights into tech policy and public interest careers, and providing a platform for individuals from underrepresented backgrounds. This time you will have the opportunity to have a great conversation with Mary Huang<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mary Huang is Senior Communications and Technology Counsel for Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-07), Ranking Member of the Communications and Technology Subcommittee on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. As senior counsel, she advises the congresswoman on technology issues including broadband access and affordability, privacy, spectrum policy, semiconductor policy, and artificial intelligence. Previously, she was Counsel for communications and media issues to the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. Before working as a congressional staffer, Ms. Huang was an associate for five years at the law firm HWG LLP, where she practiced litigation and telecommunications law. At HWG, Mary advocated for clients on a variety of regulatory and policy matters before the Federal Communications Commission and other agencies, including wireline competition, net neutrality, Tribal broadband access, and Universal Service Fund requirements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between her undergraduate studies and law school, Mary taught English at an under-resourced school in rural China for two years as a Teach for China fellow. Mary holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from Wellesley College and received her JD from Stanford Law School. She lives in Takoma Park, MD, with her husband Prasannaa, and her cat Smokey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
